Black and White-

Ever since I started photography, I always found black and white to be "real" photography. Color seemed to me as more commercial or snapshot-like. Black and white was classy and traditional, and you had to rely on composition and light. Anyone can take color images with a Kodak point and shoot, but real artists photographed and printed in black and white.

I lean towards shooting portraits because I find people to be more interesting of a subject than still life's or landscapes. People change. Within a millisecond an expression will appear or an eye lash might catch a light. I like to work with personalities and the structure of the body. I usually have concepts behind my portraits, so in some sense you might want to consider them 'alternative portraits'.
